Hytale Creative Mode – Fresh Update for Creators

TL;DR: Hytale Creative Mode is evolving into a full creation toolkit for building worlds, making mods and recording cinematic content, with even more creative features planned after early access.

Hytale has revealed a new look at Creative Mode, focusing on powerful tools for builders, modders and content creators ahead of early access. Creative Mode lets you fly, sculpt terrain, build structures, record cinematic shots and more, all inside a creator-friendly sandbox.

27 Minutes Creative Mode Gameplay​

Scripted Brushes, Shape Brush & Prefabs​

Creative Mode now includes a variety of building and terrain tools:

• Scripted Brushes – Asset-based brushes that let you quickly create mountains, paths, ruins and other terrain features. They can be edited in the Hytale Node Editor, and modders can add their own.
• Shape / Paint Brush – Paint large spheres, pyramids, cones and walls with full control over materials, density, thickness, masks and axes.
• Prefabs & Prefab Editor – Browse and edit prefabs in a separate editor, then place them precisely in your world using the Paste Tool, including arrow-key fine tuning.

Cinematics, Flight & Collaboration Tools​

To support machinima and collaborative building, Hytale Creative Mode offers:

• Machinima Tool – Create camera actors, set keyframes, and control movement speed for smooth cinematic shots and timelapses. A major upgrade for machinima tools is planned after launch.
• Customizable Flight Modes – Adjust flight speed, inertia, hover vs. directional flight, so you can either stop instantly or drift at high speeds while building.
• Selection, Ruler & Laser Pointer – Select 3D regions to copy, move, extrude, regenerate chunks or save as prefabs, measure distances with the Ruler, and use the Laser Pointer to show friends exactly where to look.

Models, Help & Long-Term Creative Vision​

• Player Model Changer / NPC Browser – Choose from 100+ models to spawn or even become (yes, including a corgi) and remix them in Creative Mode.
• Improved Help Menu – A reworked help system makes it easier to discover creative commands and features as the toolset grows.
• Future of Creative Mode – While current tools focus on content creation, the team is also designing a more casual, playful creative experience separate from Adventure and Exploration. They plan to grow the Creative Tools team and iterate based on feedback from the official Hytale Discord #creative-mode community channel.
